Pure tone audiometry (PTA) is the key hearing test used to identify hearing threshold levels of an individual, enabling determination of the degree, type and configuration of a hearing loss. Thus, providing the basis for diagnosis and management. Other tests:
Speech Audiometry:
Speech audiometry has become a fundamental tool in hearing-loss assessment. In conjunction with pure-tone audiometry, it can aid in determining the degree and type of hearing loss. Speech audiometry also provides information regarding discomfort or tolerance to speech stimuli and information on word recognition abilities.
In addition, information gained by speech audiometry can help determine proper gain and maximum output of hearing aids and other amplifying devices for patients with significant hearing losses and help assess how well they hear in noise. Speech audiometry also facilitates audiological rehabilitation management.
Special Tests:
Special tests such as SISI and Tone Decay Test help to differentiate between Cochlear and Retrocochlear Pathologies. This is a vital aspect in recommendation of hearing aid fitting.
Immittace
Tympanometry is used to evaluate the movement of the eardrum and status of the middle ear. It is useful in determining if the middle ear has abnormal air pressure or the presence of fluid that may be related to a variety of conditions including certain ear infections or even allergies.
Acoustic reflex thresholds are measured by detecting slight changes in the eardrum due to reflexive contraction of muscles in the middle ear to loud sounds. The softest level at which the muscles contract is noted for several pitches. This test allows the audiologist to determine if the hearing loss is conductive (involving only in the middle ear) or sensorineural (involving only the cochlea, auditory nerve and brain).

We put the hearing aid to the test by simulating various listening environments (Traffic noise, Continuous noise, Quiet room)
The customer is able to compare and contrast between the hearing aids based on his/her performance as well as listening comfort.
We take as much time as it takes and ensure customer satisfaction and offer this service for free!
